The Hacker Pschorr Brewery in Munich was founded in 1417, 99 years before the Law of Purity Reinheitsgebot. The Reinheitsgebot is a law on the purity of beer production in Germany, developed in 1516, which can be considered the beginning of modern brewing.
Hacker Pschorr is one of six breweries located within the city of Munich and is eligible to participate in the Oktoberfest.
